Science and Experiments

Science and experiments
We went on an outing to the Itemba laboratory. It was fun going on the school bus.
All strapped in and safe!
A real scientist did some experiments for us. We thought he was very clever.

Caleb had to blow very hard to blow up the balloon.

We made jumping frogs. It was quite a challenge to follow the instructions!

We had to work in a group and we made magic milk.

                        Paige loved the icecream!

At school we mixed red, blue and yellow, we experimented with the primary colours.
We baked bread too. We experimented with the recipe too. Eating the bread was the best part of the experiment!
Michael and Lyn said: 'I will eat this bread.' just like the Little Red Hen.
Teacher Lauren let us experiment with spices.
We smelt all the spices with our noses.
Nn is for ....... nose!We made noses at our tables. We all looked very funny when we put our noses on.

Hh is for ....... house!

Adam and Massimo hard at work drawing the other half of the house.

Pets

Pets - learning about loving our pets
Johanna's mom is a vet. She came to tell us about how we should care for our pets. Hannah Willis brought her dog to school to be the patient. Picky-Picky, her dog, needed lots of treats and was a very co-operative patient. Thank you for a wonderful lesson Dr. Dornier!

Paige listened to the dog's heart with a stethoscope.

Harriet gave a 'dog' an injection.
Massimo and his sisters brought Chloe to school.
The children all had fun running after her.

Erin brought her dogs to school too.
One of her dogs can do tricks!

 What's missing?

Jenna chose to complete a cat picture.
Michael did a bunny and Massimo chose a dog.
It was hard had to draw in the missing parts of the picture and we made a lot of mistakes!

Aidan and Michael thread 22 beads on a string. Aidan made a pattern with red and yellow beads.
Work in progress!
Mrs. Webber loves our fish! They are so colourful.
We have two fish in a bowl in our class.
We call them Sparkly and Twinkles!

The finished product.
MMMmmmmmmmm
Luke and Lyn practise making patterns in fingerpaint.

We drew pictures of Mom and me.

Emma made a playdough picture of her mom. She put in a good effort.

Some children don't have pets at home, so we made pet rocks.
Now we can each have a pet at home!
Mia and Lily enjoyed choosing a rock.
Then they wiped them clean.
Josh, Paige and Hayden hard at work!
Some of our beautiful pet rocks.

Mrs Jerling invited us to visit the Science room. We looked at all the pets there!

We saw hamsters, a snake, a chameleon, ants and a lot of fish.
Mrs. Lewin brought her pet dog Jemma to visit us.
She is a very clever dog who helps people feel better.
Mrs. Lewin told us how to care for our pet dogs. We took it in turns to groom her.
Megan pretended to read Jemma a story. Caleb shook hands, oops ........ paws with Jemma.
Luke's brother brought his pet snakes to school. He told us such interesting facts about snakes. The children all enjoyed touching his pets.

Qq is for ......................... Quarrelsome Queen

Emma and Adam  work very hard on their pictures of Quarrelsome Queen.
Hayden and Massimo are also concentrating very hard.

Wow!!
What a beautiful quilt for ......Quarrelsome Queen
